  • Situated in the Natural Park and on the edge of the National Park (Parque National), it is in an ideal position for numerous mountain trail walks - for the experienced walker, properly equipped to explore for themselves or with our walking guides.
  • Walks can be undertaken to include the local villages or to the heights of the Sierras - the highest peak is Mulhacén at 3482m.
  • If you choose to use our walking guides then the walks undertaken over a five day period in your seven day holiday are described on our Guided Walks page.

  • You can of course join us just for a day whether staying with us or not

  • Walking is the best way to see the diverse fauna and flora and fantastic views.

  • If you have chosen not to hire a car then arrangements can be made at a modest cost to ferry you to and from starting points of particular walks you wish to try.

  • There are though, a number of walks, which can be reached with your cortijo as a starting point.

  • The terrain can be rugged and steep and it is important to be properly equipped. Suitable clothing with sturdy walking boots or shoes [these should give ankle support] is highly recommended.

  • As the sun can be very hot in summer you should bring a mix of T and long sleeve shirts, a light hat, sunglasses, high factor sunscreen, a water bottle and mobile phone are recommended.
