Our 15-acre finca is situated on a south-facing slope in the Poqueria valley high in the Alpujarra Mountains. Viewed across the valley are the villages of Bubión, Capileira, and Pampaneira

Secluded Cortijo Los Nogales is reached via an unmade road that hugs the side of the valley. It passes the Buddhist retreat O Sel Ling and a few cortijos nestling in the trees. The name O Sel Ling given the retreat centre by the Dalai Lama in 1982 means “Place of Clear Light” The route gives spectacular views of the surrounding area. On a clear day, the Mediterranean glistens in the distance, and sometimes the cloud-capped mountains of North Africa can be seen.
